It's National Jelly Roll Day!  Who knew that?!

Save the Date for a fun class with Kim Pebley.  You can learn all things Jelly Roll.  You can make this free Moda Star Flower pattern or bring another Jelly Roll friendly pattern to work on.  Kim also has a Jelly Roll Race Challenge for you.

If the above pattern is not your Jelly Style, you are welcome to find something else, and Kim will also have free and purchase patterns and lots of samples.

National Sew a Jelly Roll Day is celebrated on the third Saturday of September each year. The day encourages quilters to use pre-cut fabrics that they don't plan to use for a project, and to store and roll them together with other pieces, called "jelly rolls", for later use. The quilter can use a variety of effects to contribute to the final quality of the quilted material, including the type and thickness of the material, the stitch length and style, pattern design, and piecing and cutting.

Setup for classes begins at 8:30.

** Registrations must be paid immediately.  Your seat is not guaranteed until payments have been finalized.

Introducing the Starlight Quilt by Lori Dickman, a hybrid workshop available in person and by Zoom.

To create this striking quilt, students will either pull squares from their stash (or cut from fat quarters or yardage) in various sizes and values of Lights, Mediums and Darks to create nine beautiful Starlight blocks for this wall quilt, measuring 42” x 42” with borders. During the workshop, Lori Dickman teaches her Speedy Solutions techniques as she shows how to pull scraps from her stash to use with many different quilt patterns. Her techniques are amazingly simple to incorporate for hundreds of patterns… what a wonderful way to use up Scrap Stash to create beautiful quilts!

By implementing the techniques in Lori’s book, "Speedy Solutions to Cut & Organize Your Scrap Stash," the student will have a scrap stash that has already been cut in various sizes and values to use for this pattern. However, the student can also simply use fat quarters or yardage to create a beautiful “Starlight” quilt!  Kit required: Either the Starlight Pattern $10.00 each; OR the "Speedy Solutions Pattern book: $30 (includes Starlight & 11 additional scrappy patterns).

      Read Lori's biography here.

Supply list and pattern info to be posted later.  Please purchase your own pattern and do not share.

Setup for classes begins at 8:30 a.m.  Registrations will automatically open up about 3 months in advance.  Notification emails will also automatically be sent.

** Registrations must be paid immediately.  Your seat is not guaranteed until payments have been finalized.  Cancellations must be processed 5 days in advance of the event to receive a refund.

This is a great way to learn the basics of bag making that will directly transfer into other more advanced Byannie patterns. You will learn:

      • The benefits of using a foam stabilizer to give bags their great body and stability.
      • How to prepare a zipper strip
      • How to use the time-saving Binding Hack
      • How to easily enclose raw edges with binding
      • How to make easy modifications to turn this pattern into a purse

Patterns are FREE.  Click here to download the pattern.

See pattern for fabric requirements. You can use ByAnnie's Soft and Stable foam or Pellon Flex Foam which comes in non fusible, 1-sided fusible and 2-sided fusible. Barbara prefers the 2-sided fusible (FF79F2) as it makes it easier to quilt especially if you are wanting to fussy cut the sides of your bag.

Special Instructions: The Cut and Quilt 1.A and 1.B portions of the pattern instructions should be done before class. This will allow you to bring your 18” x 21” sandwiched and quilted piece to class to be cut into the final pattern pieces. Contact Barb Withers with any questions.

Join the Community Outreach sewers at Lake Havasu City Aquatic Center on this SPECIAL SEWING DAY being held in the gym.

Please RSVP so we know how many people are coming.  We want to make sure to have enough tables for everyone that volunteers.

You can help by cutting fabric for projects, sewing projects and items, and sorting through the fabrics (that's the fun part!).  We would love to see you there!

We are continuing to make quilts and other items for our Spring and Winter distributions.  Remember, this is our main project that gives us our non-profit status. The local homes we deliver to need more lap quilts, fidget quilts, bibs, and shawls.

Setup is at 8:30 am, sewing begins at 9:00.  We will have raffles and prizes and pizza and salad delivered for LUNCH about noon for our hard-working volunteers.  Oh, my!

NO CHARGE to our sewing volunteers for our lunch. Clean up at 4:00 p.m.

Call Rita Percer at (661) 714-9527 if you have any questions.

National Quilting Day is held every March.  It celebrates quilt makers and their skill and labor.  Havasu Stitchers is proud to host this event every other year and invites the general public to come visit and see what we do and why we love it.  There will be several quilts of various styles and sizes on display and demos on different aspects of quilt making as well as vendors for your shopping pleasure.

We will have lots lined up for everyone to come see and enjoy a fun day of quilt making.  Havasu Stitcher's Community Outreach will be making various sewn items to donate and help support our local Charity Organizations.

We are adding an area for kids to explore the world of quilting.  Parents are welcome too!

We will have our annual Indoor Garage Sale fundraiser. Come check out all the great sewing and fabric-related items we have for sale.

We invite others to come demo and show off your talents.

There will be quilt(s) raffled.  Donations will go to for local charities.

Don't miss it!  See you there!
