Registration will open on June 1, 2026.

Sew Staycations are BACK at the Aquatic Center! We will be in the gym for three fun-filled days of sewing with your quilty friends.

This is a No Frills staycation, so bring your lunch and beverages.

Please do not come before 7:30 so we can set-up the electrical safely, so people don't trip on anything. Set up begins at 8:00.

All coordinators, assistants, and non-member guests must have their registrations processed by Education and the Tech Team to be registered. Please contact education@havasustitchers.com to get approval for registration.

Registration and Cancellation Policy:

Registrations must be made ONLINE and paid immediately. Your seat is not guaranteed until payments have been finalized.
If you have not paid in full 30 DAYS before this event, you run the risk of being canceled if we have members on the wait list. PLEASE make sure you are paid within the 30 days. Thank you.
Cancellations must be processed 5 days in advance of the event to receive an account credit. Credits can be used for future Havasu Stitchers events. Refunds are not offered.
Cancellations less than 5 days before an event are not eligible for a credit unless we are able to add someone from the waitlist.
Substitutions of attendees are not permitted. If you cannot make it, please contact the Education V.P. and let her know. Members on the waitlist have priority for last minute openings.

Join our guild as we get together and learn about guild events and socialize with each other. Guests are welcome! There is a charge of $5 for guests.

We will have Show and Tell after the break, so bring your lovely creations.

Our meeting will be held at the Mohave College, 1977 Acoma Blvd West, Room 600. Parking is right in front of the room on Acoma. Here is a link to a map of the campus.

National Teacher Lynda Brooks Lecture and Trunk Show

Certified Instructor Lynda Brooks will present a lecture and trunk show on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at the London Bridge Resort. Registration for the lecture and trunk show is $5 and seating is limited. The workshop will take place the following two days, September 14-15, 2026, and registration for that is separate.

Lynda will be demonstrating how to use the Sew Kind of Wonderful Quick Curve mini Ruler and make this gorgeous Moon Dance Revival quilt in her two-day workshop. She will also have items for purchase at the trunk show.

All members are welcome to attend the lecture and trunk show. However, seating is limited due to the room capacity. You must be registered for admission. Please do not arrive before 4:15 p.m. for admission.

Lynda Brooks brings a lifelong passion for sewing and quilting to her work as an instructor. Raised in a creative household, she learned to sew at an early age while watching her mother teach Stretch and Sew classes from their home during the introduction of double-knit polyester. This early foundation fostered an experience that sparked both her skills and her appreciation for the craft.

Since beginning her quilting journey in 2003, Lynda has developed experience across a variety of styles, including log cabin, French braid, feathered star, bargello, and curved quilting techniques. For Lynda, quilting is all about taking pieces of fabric and turning them into something meaningful and lasting.

Following her retirement in 2020, Lynda expanded her involvement in the quilting community by volunteering at WillnBee’z Quilt and Coffee Shop, where she helps with fabric display, kit preparation, sample creation, and class instruction. Her hands-on experience ranges from quilt construction to tote bags and jelly roll rugs. Her particular interest in the beauty and movement of curved ruler designs led her to become a certified Sew Kind of Wonderful instructor in May 2024.

Known for her thoughtful and supportive teaching style, Lynda enjoys helping quilters build confidence and skill by creating a relaxed, welcoming space for learning. She continues to grow her offerings, with plans to introduce zipper bag classes and kits.

Join certified instructor Lynda Brooks for a two-day class to make the Moon Dance Revival quilt. Lynda will teach attendees curved cutting and piecing using the Sew Kind of Wonderful's QCR Mini Ruler, quick curve mini ruler. Moon Dance Revival is a beautiful exploration of color, movement, and curved piecing. Designed with a mix of warm and cool tones set against varied neutral backgrounds, this quilt offers endless opportunities to play with color and texture. In this two-day class, students will build confidence using the Sew Kind of Wonderful Mini Curve Ruler through a simple, approachable method—no pins, no center matching, and no snipping seams. Just cut, sew, and square up. This class is ideal for advanced beginners ready to expand their skills and explore the fun of curved piecing in a supportive, encouraging environment.

This is a two-day class. Day one focuses on practicing curved cutting with scraps, constructing the three core blocks used in the quilt, then transitioning to cutting and creating curved blocks with your fabrics.

Day two shifts to color placement and layout, where you’ll begin assembling sections of your quilt and bringing your unique Moon Dance vision to life.

Preorders for the pattern ($9) and mini ruler ($15.99) are available at Havasu Quilts. Orders require a 50% deposit or full payment upon ordering. Contact Kim directly to place an order.

You can also order from Lynda Brooks. She has the pattern for $12, ruler for $19, and a kit for $130. The kit is fabric only. Photos of the kit choices will be in the registration confirmation email. If you would like to order directly from Lynda, please email AJ no later than June 26, 2026, so Lynda has time to construct your kit.

Please purchase your own pattern and do not share.
